It makes sense because the location can support the residential unit density that the new building will provide. The Polish Triangle is already flanked by large 'placemaker' structures, and this new development will simply increase the focus upon the Milwaukee/Division/Ashland node. The infrastructure exists to support the additional tenants and will only improve once the Ashland BRT makes its way into the neighborhood.

The project is not infiltrating a low rise neighborhood mid block, but rather creating a high point, both vertically and density wise, between multiple intersecting commercial corridors and multiple urban residential neighborhood blocks.

Stop concentrating on the amount of floors, this building is NOT twice the height of the bank, if I remember correctly it is maybe 15-20 feet taller. And it holds the corner just as well as its older neighbor, providing a sense of place for the Triangle.
