For Lease: Nonetheless Garments (formerly Connect) Space

Nonetheless Garments appears to have closed. We were saddened to see a sign in its window at 1330 N. Milwaukee Ave. saying that the space is for lease.
We’re in the process of trying to get the weekly e-newsletter out, and will add more to this post later, if there is any news to share on the topic. In the meanwhile, while doing a Google search on “nonetheless” “closed” and “wicker park” in an attempt to learn more, the following results came up.
If you’ve been around the neighborhood for more than a few years as we have, you likely frequented many of these places listed below that have closed, too.
Change might be inevitable, but it doesn’t stop it from hurting, either.
We still miss Skewerz on deadline nights.
Had a blast working at caffe de luca.
Met an ex-boyfriend for the first time at Veggie Bite when we were standing in line.
Celebrated our 34th birthday at Mado.
We met the owner of Spring as he was cleaning graffiti off his restaurant’s windows. Already a pipeline reader, he told us that he once ran an underground newspaper and to “keep up the good work” or something like that.
Spent more than a few afternoons reading the newspapers at Earwax Cafe and Half and Half (later Skewerz)….
anyhow, back to deadline. maybe it’s the rain but we’re feeling melancholy.
