Motorcyclist Hit By Car in Wicker Park While Traveling in Bicycle Lane

Around 3:38 p.m. today, a motorcyclist collided with a car as he was traveling on the 1500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue.
Addison, a witness, pictured, was cleaning out beer lines at Rodan when he heard the sound of the crash. According to Addison and other eye witnesses who spoke with The Pipeline, the motorcyclist was traveling in the bicycle lane and going rather fast when he was hit by a car. UPDATE: See witness Nancy’s comments at bottom for further info.
14th district police, an ambulance, and a fire truck were on the scene within minutes. The driver of the car was present and was observed talking with police officers.
Two Milwaukee Avenue #56 CTA buses were stalled from the time of the accident until 4 p.m.
It does not appear to be a fatal injury.
“Are you taking pictures? That’s sick!” a passerby told us.
The Pipeline replied that our father died in an car accident, and had there of been photos, we too would have had the same reaction of disgust. We’re not “ambulance chasers” nor do we enjoy that kind of news. So here’s a faraway shot.

i was there. the motorcyclist hit a car as he was travelling in the bike lane. he then bounced off a parked car and was thrown from the cycle. the police were first to arrive, followed by firemen five minutes later. it took the ambulance at least 10 long minutes to arrive. some good samaritans comforted the injured man until the firemen could treat his wounds.

Was he in the bicycle lane trying to beat traffic or did he get pushed into the bike lane? Do you know?
