Scoop, Schmoop: New Health Club Headed to 2100 Block of W. Division

By at July 9, 2012 | 3:25 pm | Print

A few months back we were correct about Pizano’s Pizza moving into the former Crust space at 2056 W. Division, thanks to a source who’d wished to remain anonymous. Once again, another Division Street ‘insider’ has informed us of the next chapter for a new space…

….A health club plans to move into the former Aspen Kitchen & Bath space at 2133 W. Division, on or around August 1st, 2012.

Chances are that the build out will take a few months, so perhaps the new club will be open for business by the time everyone is trying to work off their holiday pounds… or that pizza from across the way?

In case you’re thinking that this new club would be competition to, say, the other two clubs already on the block (Wicker Park Fitness, and Wicker Park Athletic Club), think again.   Reportedly costing around a couple hundred of dollars monthly to join, the new club will be a bit pricier than the other two.

Gilded Stairmaster, anyone?

Are you sure about $200/month for dues at this new club? East Bank Club is around that amount. I can’t imagine something as nice as East Bank fitting into the Kitchen & Bath space. Very curious to hear what it has to offer that can command those monthly dues.

yes, CS, that’s what the source said, and i agree it seems very high. I am guessing it’ll offer state of the art equipment and personal training built into the model. With some trainers charging $100 a session, it’s not that unfathomable that if training were included consumers might bite. As for me, at that amount, you would need to be an avatar dieting FOR me! :)

I walked by this weekend, and there was a hand written sign that said “Crossfit Division.”
