Aldi Foods, 1767 N. Milwaukee (map it), closed for remodeling this past week, is set to host a Grand Reopening this Thursday, June 28th during store hours from 9.m. to 8 p.m.
According to a construction worker, the outside facade and interior have been remodeled.
The front exterior now also says “Food Market,” for those who are unsure as it what Aldi is by its logo alone.
Nearby households received door hanger advertisements from the discount grocery offering $5 off of $30 worth of groceries. The coupon, which excludes alcohol, must be brought in and not mentioned.
Here’s a few Aldi pics snapped over the past couple of years… a man who makes one wonder if Aldi shouldn’t charge for bags, spotted from afar as we were waiting for the bus across the street, and a performer from this past summer’s Built Festival, which was held in the Aldi parking lot.

I’m sad that Trader Joe’s didn’t replace Aldi’s. The new remodel is better with cleaner and more organized shelving and a better produce section, but it still pales compared to Trader Joe’s offerings.
