Bucktown’s Holstein Park (2200 N. Oakley- map it) is turning 100 years old, and since parks can’t throw themselves their own party, the volunteer group Friends of Holstein Park has stepped in to make this Saturday, June 30th a memorable day.
Holstein 100 takes place from 11am – 7pm and will feature 14 of Chicago’s finest food trucks, a selection of Goose Island Beer Co.’s summer beers, and live bands (lineup here) throughout the day.
The festivities will be held on the park grounds adjacent to the historic field house as well as the surrounding streets. There will be many activities for the younger park fans in a dedicated
children’s play space.
The entire event is a fundraiser for the ambitious rehabilitation plan of the historic Holstein Park field house that is celebrating 100 years of continuous service to the community. There’s a $5 suggested donation for entry to the celebration.
Volunteers are welcome to help on the day of the event. Check out a few of the volunteer positions HERE and email holsteinpark100@gmail.com for further information.
