The 8th Annual Riot Fest is Sept. 14-16th, 2012 (tickets here) and based on this kicka** line-up and the addition this year of a CARNIVAL (!!!!) in Humboldt Park’s Park, it’s sure to be an incredible weekend of music and good times all around.
Opening Night (Sept. 14th) will be at the Congress Theater, too! Caitlin ‘CeCe’ Carroll, the pipeline’s young and intrepid music loving reporter, is texting up a storm telling us how excited she is about this three-day festival and we can see why! Even us old(er) folks happened to have noticed that ‘gypsy punk’ band Gogol Bordello will be playing, too!
It’s difficult to pick a favorite Gogol Bordello song– really, they’re all amazing– however, we encourage you to listen to “Tribal Connections,“ as loudly as possible. It’s got some great lyrics in it pertaining to community, inspiration, frustration, downtown, celebration, and, of course, tribal connections. Thanks for listening. Now, post a comment and tell us about the band you’re most excited to see at Riot Fest, too! CeCe…?
