March 22 Pipeline and Reader Feedback on BACP Congress Hearing

FROM PIPELINE:    This past Friday, we were alerted to a message board thread on the Greater Goethe Neighborhood Association (GGNA) Yahoo Group that originated with a post by Ronda Locke, director of Community Outreach for 1st Ward Ald. Moreno, titled “BACP Status – 2135 N. Milwaukee IG#12-AT-351.” Locke was soliciting members of the community to attend an April 17th “Deleterious Impact/Public Nuisance Hearing” at City Hall, to discuss the impact that the Congress Theater has had on the community.

This is very interesting – Thanks Pipeline for including.  There is a hearing to discuss the deleterious impact of one bar-venue – Congress Theater.  However, the entire neighborhood is greatly impacted by 3 fests, especially the Green Music Fest and by the 5am Bars at the 6 corners.   Let me know what you think?  What is the motive to pick just one venue that is not in Wicker Park?  Can we get a public hearing to address the fests? –Doug Wood
