From making custom shakers using water bottles and corn at the E
asel Art Studio table to learning how to yo-yo, and grow plants, a fun time was most definitely had by all who partook in this past Saturday’s Childrens Carnival on Wicker Park’s park grounds.
Nearly 20 neighborhood groups collaborated to make the carnival happen in style.
In regards to attendance, organizer Sam of Missio Dei Church wrote, “My best guess was 500 total attendees…but I have no concrete idea!” Sam noted that over 60 volunteers helped to run the event and there were 1,800+ prizes distributed, along with 68 smurf plush toys.
Photojournalist Philin Phlash was on the scene and captured a good bit of the excitement! We hope you enjoy these images as much as we suspect Phlash enjoyed snapping them. Note: Click on any photo to enlarge it.
